Roadhouse Open House!

Everyone is invited to our open house this Thursday the 29th of January! It starts at 5:30pm to 7:30pm. We will be pouring the bubbly, and passing samples of our Private Dining room appetizers.

Leslie will be on hand to give a tour of the rooms, and there are rumors that Julie from River Valley Ranch is going to join us to celebrate our just past the half year mark. The Chamber members will be doing a ribbon cutting ceremony, I hope they bring those big cartoon scissors! Emily from Full Circle Farm is bringing me some of the dried beans so I can make a pancetta laced cannelini bean spread. We will have sweet treats from Maria our pastry Chef-I tasted one today an almond apple mini cake-WOW!!! She sure knows how to get the sweet tooth started! So come on down to our House The Roadhouse! Bring your friends, your family, your neighbors-anybody you can find-and celebrate the beginning of a wonderful adventure!

We will be sure to save you a seat!

New Friends and Some Old School Pals

What a beautiful week in Fall City! We had frost and freezing fog in the mornings, and then breaking out to the sunshine thru the rest of the day. Thanks to Farmer Emily we have this great picture of Full Circle Farms, check out their website at http://www.fullcirclefarm.com/ they are responsible for making sure we have wonderful rainbow carrots and winter squash to serve. Their CSA program is amazing and I personally enjoy utilizing their dried beans for soups and sauces! Speaking of the farm, Bill stopped by for lunch this week and it was super to put a face with the name!

On Thursday, an old friend from Mercer Island stopped in for our Kid's Eat Free night and a birthday celebration. Darcie you have not change a bit! Happy belated birthday-and we look forward to seeing you on a regular basis! Speaking of high school, Skip Webb made a surprise appearance and catching up was so much fun. He enjoyed our Fish Taco Friday! Tempura fried Alaskan halibut, with chipolte lime sour cream, fresh avocado and a squeeze of lime all on a white corn tortilla for 5 bucks! I personally enjoy them with a bit of Siracha!

Many of you have come this week for the first time. I know I have enjoyed meeting everyone-and your friendly faces and smiles are warming our hearts and our dining room. I have had the pleasure of pouring beers, and wine for several of you. Speaking of wine, we have updated our wine list to feature some new selections. One in particular is 14 hands Cabernet -hints of berry, a slight honey with a soft finish-the great thing about this wine is that only a select few restaurants will be serving from the winery, we are honored to be one of the few.

Chef Kevin and I are bursting at the Chef buttons to be featuring First Run Alaskan King Salmon this week! Once more only a few select restaurants in the area are serving this minimal opening thanks to Dave for securing us our supply!

We have brought back one of our more popular specials The Duck and Berry-we sear the duck breast and render the skin to a crispy goodness, then serve it with a Blueberry port glaze! Match that with some creamy polenta and farm veggies! It pairs perfectly with the new 14 hands Cabernet.

I have so much to talk about, so many things to update I will have to continue this tomorrow! Items of interest-Our open House this Thursday the 29th, our upcoming celebration of our first six months of opening! More talk about our Valentine's specials, future artists we will be featuring!
So come back to the blog soon and check out all we are offering!
But most importantly come see us, we love to have visitors and of course make new friends.
We will see you all soon, and be sure to save you the best seat in the house!

Roadhouse Is Rockin'

Hello all!!

Phew we had a busy week here in Fall City! We saw many new faces, and so many of our regulars! Many of you came out to check on us in the last week and for that we are eternally grateful. The flooding came into our parking lot closest to the river but never did it come into the restaurant. I have posted some additional pictures from various areas in the Valley. I witnessed so many neighbors helping neighbors this last week, I know that Fall City Farms had a work party that was very successful. It was my pleasure to buy them dinner on a recent Friday evening. I am continually amazed at the strength, of human kindness and compassion. The events of the last week in our community have both humbled me as a person, and truly made me feel grateful for being part of such a wonderful Valley family. Please check out the folks at Fall City Farms http://www.fallcityfarms.com/ you will not be disappointed.

So what is happening at the roadhouse in the coming week? We are gearing up for the big day for all you love birds. River Rising!

What a day at the Roadhouse! Today we started like any day-except mother nature had other plans! The river was rising. Our current super hero Chef Kevin informed us that highway 203 was closed at 7am! We knew we were in for some crazy times. So off we all went to work. Opened the doors to so many of you, some needed shelter, some just needed food. We of course were here to serve!! We even ended up on the NEWS It seems that KING 5 news flew over the restaurant! We waved! Chef Kevin checked in a stranded guest, so now he is warm and cozy in the INN upstairs!

We even saw someones water heater float down the river! What a day! Chef Cameon was stranded and couldn't make it in today, so she worked hard from home on our updated menu's and our new promotions. We will be adding to our already popular Kid's Eat Free promotion and bringing some great things to the table for our adult crowd.

Monday's we are featuring our meatball madness! So many meatballs you will wish you had a second stomach! On Tuesday's we are going to break into our wine cellar for tasting Tuesday's that means half price wine nights!! Wednesday Chef Kevin will be bringing some of his Buttermilk Fried Chicken-not just any chicken we are using Rocky Juniors these chickens are all natural, no hormones, free range, and ohhhhhh soooooo gooood. Top this with our Country Gravy!! You will be begging for more! Now we move to Friday!! Those of you who have had our fish taco's will know how special this is-a entire day devoted to Fish taco's!! Tempura fried halibut, chipolte lime sour cream, fresh avocado, crisp country slaw, on white corn tortillas! Have one, have two, three, four, why stop at four have ten they are only 5.00. We can't leave the week without something scrumptious for Saturday! Southern Fried Saturday's-featuring chicken fried steak with sausage gravy and fries for you said it 5 bucks!!

We all may be reeling from the river right now, our thoughts are with all of you and we hope that we can be of service to our community. As usual we look forward to seeing all of you, we hope tonight you are warm, safe, of course dry, and most importantly you have your family close.

We will save you a seat!

Happy New Year!!!!!

Welcome one and all to 2009! We rang in the new year yesterday with great festivities! Chef Cameon was out in the dining room greeting you with a "happy new year" and making sure everyone had the perfect glass of wine or beer to start our celebration! We have just updated our wine list and added several wines from the top 100 wines of Washington state. Check out the list on the Seattle times website under restuarants http://www.seattletimes.com/. Paul Gregutt has listed many wines that we are working on featuring on our list and Chef Cameon will be offering some of the wines as a feature, pairing with our wonderful specials.

Very popular last night was a featured wine by the glass Strong Arms Shiraz from Southern Australia. On your next visit be sure to ask if we still have a supply, it is not on our list but we will be happy to offer it to our special guests. The wine is a nice way to start your dinner for the glass price of 9 dollars and bottle price of 33 dollars. Shiraz-also known as Syrah originated in Thone France and is now notable grown in Australia. Shiraz wines display firm tannins (although they are typically ripe and smooth, not abrasive like younger reds can be), a fuller body, and the rich round flavors of black cherry, blackberry, plum, bell pepper, black pepper, clove, licorice, dark chocolate and smoked meat. Food Pairings
Shiraz is great for grilled meats or veggies, wild game, richly flavored red meats, beef stew and meat lover's pizza.
Chef Cameon Paired our specials with the shiraz offering a Veal Osso Buco, Grilled Ribeye with Port glazed shallots and the ever popluar Naughty Nelly New York!

Our Roadhouse Crew is gearing up for the new year and beginning a new promotion we are excited to present a special for every week night! Come check out Meatball Monday's, Tasting Tuesday (1/2 price wine's by the bottle) sure to feature a new wine from Chef Cameon's personal cellar, Wednesday will be Chef Kevin's southern Fried Chicken!!!-all natural Chicken from our wonderful Washington farmers.
